Shambles Street : (South side) : Lord Nelson Hotel (2)

Another view of the long frontage of the Lord Nelson Hotel in 1960. 'Fighting heroes' were popular pub names and none more so than England's great naval hero Horatio Nelson. After demolition in 1976 the Lord Nelson was completely rebuilt under the same old name, at least initially.
